When I started Pretty on Fleek, I had just gotten pregnant in the middle of Miami's chaos. I needed a way forward — something rooted in what I've always loved: art, beauty, and making people feel confident in their own skin. I chose the name on impulse, inspired by a fun song, never imagining it would become my life's work for over 15 years.
As time passed, people would tell me, "Don't change it — it's you." And they weren't wrong. Pretty on Fleek became a part of me, my family, and my story. I trained so many talented artists in Miami and watched them grow into their own, which will always be one of my proudest accomplishments.
Then life shifted. In the middle of COVID, I had to leave my first location and move into a second one — right in the middle of uncertainty. That transition forced me to downsize, to simplify, and to face the reality of the industry in a way I never had before. I stepped back, went solo, and took time to heal — from burnout, pressure, and everything that comes with building something in an unpredictable world.
Then came another turning point — my lease wasn't renewed. I had to move again. I started searching for something small, something safe. But nothing aligned. Rents had increased immensely, and everything available was triple the size and triple the cost.
And in that moment, I realized… maybe I wasn't meant to stay small. Maybe I was being pushed to grow.
PF Beauty Lab carries the heart of Pretty on Fleek — those "PF" initials hold years of memories, growth, clients, lessons, wins, and even mistakes. I'm not bringing the past with me as something to hold onto — I'm bringing it as knowledge, as wisdom, as experience. And I'm leaving behind what no longer serves me.
This is a fresh canvas. A new beginning where I get to rebuild with intention — stronger, wiser, and more aligned with the vision I've always had but hadn't fully stepped into yet.
To my loyal clients — the ones who have followed me from place to place without hesitation, no questions asked. You are everything. Because of you, I'm able to create not just a business, but a life — for myself and for my kids.
And of course, I can't do this without mentioning my husband, Rogelio. My backbone, my calm in the chaos, my biggest cheerleader. None of this would be possible without him by my side.
